During these stressful economic times, a book like W. Mitchell’s can help you put your life in perspective and get you back on track in your life.

Opened with a foreword by Anthony Robbins, W. Mitchell memoirs about great adversity and the lessons he has learned along the way. As referenced in its title, It is not what happens to you, it’s what you do about it is book for those looking for inspiration.

After suffering through third-degree burns to over 65 percent of his body in a motorcycle accident, Mitchell pushed through a painful recovery. Years after his motorcycle accident, he survived a near-fatal plane crash, but was paralyzed waist down. Most people would throw in the towel after just one of these accidents—never mind two—but not Mitchell.

He decided to move onward and upward. He co-founded a company and then became mayor of Crested Butte Colorado. “Before my accident there were 10,000 things I could do. Now there are only 9,000. I could focus on the 1,000 I cannot do, or focus on the 9,000 things I can still do,” Mitchell writes. His story serves as a reminder to people who get distracted with their foes to focus on the things they can do and of course, never, ever give up.

Today, Mitchell is the President of The National Speakers Association and has been invited to the White House by the last four Presidents of the United States. He continues to revel in his adventures, in learning how to skydive and white water rafting.

This is a book full of perspective, triumph and wisdom.
